Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Advanced Occupational Health Center's

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive, painless procedure designed to boost the body’s natural healing processes. It involves placing patients in a pressurized chamber where they breathe 100% pure oxygen at a pressure higher than sea level atmospheric pressure, typically between 1.5 and 3 times the normal air pressure. This increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve more efficiently into the bloodstream, greatly enhancing oxygen delivery to tissues that are often difficult to reach, such as areas with limited blood flow or damaged tissues.

The enhanced oxygen absorption stimulates the body's natural healing processes, promoting cell regeneration, reducing inflammation, and aiding in the repair of damaged tissues. HBOT has been widely used to treat various medical conditions, including chronic wounds, infections, carbon monoxide poisoning, decompression sickness, radiation injuries, and certain types of traumatic brain injuries.

By improving oxygen saturation in the body, HBOT also supports immune function, helps eliminate harmful bacteria, and reduces swelling, making it an effective complementary treatment for a range of health conditions. Additionally, many patients report a general improvement in wellness, as the therapy can also increase energy levels, enhance mental clarity, and support overall bodily functions.
